Nice planes. With his history, I hope he doesn’t fly any of them (seems like the FAA’s investigation into his latest issue is still pending).

They put the Caravan pic twice, the first pic should be the jet. That merc wagon is awesome.

It wasn’t one of those, he must have more planes than this, he crashed an Aviat Husky. His other thing wasn’t a crash but a runway mixup.

I’ve got on pretty much the same model of watch he’s wearing; it’s a Breitling Aerospace, mine is from 1990 not sure when his is from.
You can see his a little more clearly in this pict ure.

Not even a take-home car from his own dealership

yeah, I was being snarky. I thought he had at least two recent (last couple of years
) crashes though. Like the one into
a golf course? Unless I’m confusing celebrity actor pilots.

I was confused by that.....

Yeah that was the Husky, it’s a very old plane, not sure if he had issues with the aircraft. It’s better than drunk John Denver, he used to crash his Porsches a lot, then graduated to building a small aircraft and killing himself in it. My dad was a military pilot so I have been hearing commentary for years.

My dad was a pilot so I know what the planes are and I just stopped and thought, huh..?

yike - did not know that about John Denver.
Google shows a helicopter crash as well
http://www.airsafe.com/events/celebs/ford.htm
But he doesn’t really seem to be at fault in those crashes.
I’ll update my incorrect opinion of his piloting skills. I’ll still probably refuse if he offers to give me a ride in his plane - he doesn’t seem to have the best luck.

He crashed a helicopter too, during auto-rotation training (though it seems like his instructor should have taken command and bailed him out there).

Chopper are dodgy, in Hawaii they crash and kill people flying around the canyons and it happens fairly often. They are flying in a difficult area with the steep mountains, crazy unexpected drafts. I watch that Coastie Alaska rescue show sometimes and they do pretty well with those 60s, but there was one episode the pilot says the flights to get people in the mountains are far more dangerous than sea level flight over the ocean.

I forgot he was in Apocalypse Now...I want to say it was for about 5 minutes as a Lieutenant/XO in an office scene. Barely more than Larry Fishburne got in the film.
Bu t it still counts.
Interesting list, but that BuzzFeed-style quasi-journalism is a little irritating to read.

Me too, I don't know much about planes but when the pic has a prop and the caption says jet.....

I think you may have your John Denver information mixed up, at least with regards to his death. Is aircraft was a Rutan, but he bought it already built. There was a non-approved modification that required him to reach (I may have the side mixed up) his right hand across over his left shoulder with a pair of pliers to actuate a fuel system valve. In doing so, he apparently bumped the side-mounted control stick, throwing himself into a spin from which he did not recover and plowed into the water. He was regarded as a conscientious and thorough pilot. I don’t know anything about drunken Parsh wrecking.

I love burly turboprop singles, like the family station wagon with the hi-po big block and the towing package.

I rode in a Caravan in Kenya when I was young. I liked all the cargo below us in the pod looking storage.
